
Julia Ames
Creative Director, BT Studio & Founder, Spoolia Design
An award-winning designer and art director, Julia founded Spoolia Design in 2008. She hit the ground running and hasn’t stopped, leading every aspect of the agency’s work – from bold brand identities to the hundreds of digital assets and print pieces that bring great brands to life. With clients ranging from fortune 500 companies to cultural institutions, Julia believes in listening closely and taking a customized approach. Before starting Spoolia, she worked at Design Army in Washington, DC, as well as Ars Nova and The New York Times Company. Julia graduated with an MFA from SVA in Steve Heller’s Design as Author program and received her BA in Film Studies from the University of Maryland.

Micah Greenberg
Vice President, BT Studio & Partner, Spoolia Design
Micah is equal parts strategist and storyteller, with more than 15 years of experience with a “Who’s Who” of media brands and marketing clients. He spent nearly a decade of that time as a Director of Marketing at NPR and held leadership roles at KCRW and The Atlantic magazine before joining forces with creative soulmate Julia Ames at Spoolia Design. Based in The BrainTrust’s LA office, Micah’s our resident brand guru and copywriter. When he’s not naming a company, building a brand or launching a campaign, he produces a popular concert series and is a published poet. An east coast transplant with a west coast vibe, Micah holds degrees from Brown University in American Civilization and Creative Writing.
